Family: First Friday - Downtown Waxhaw

One of the cool parts about being newbies in a big town that has small town feel is the ability to explore what the town has to offer! We stumbled upon something called First Friday. Basically the first friday night of almost every month the town plans an event downtown on main street. Here is some official info on it.

First Fridays
First Fridays in Waxhaw are filled with opportunities to have a greats night on the town. Local businesses and restaurants stay open late, offering special discounts, while free carriage rides are available to the public. Each month, themed events and offerings take place in the middle of the town. Events have included art crawls, pumpkin carving stations, live music and more. First Fridays are organized by the Small Town Main Street Promotions Committee and are always a great option for those looking for the new and unique!

Sold! So off we went.

First we stopped at the Waxhaw playgroud on Main Street to let the kids play for a bit and then cooled them off at the Waxhaw Creamery!

We met some people who had just moved here from New York and talked with them for a bit while all our daughters played. We also walked around and popped into some of the new shops on Main street. The girls were excited to get their face painted! (well maybe a tiny fraction of their cheek...)

Next it was time for CARRIAGE RIDES!

Such a great family night.

And we just love horsies!!!
